Lifehouse is back with their sixth studio album and I am in love.

This album is not the usual Lifehouse album. But you can definitely hear in each track how the band has matured and they didn’t feel the need to come up with a radio-friendly rock anthem. I read an article in Billboard where Jason Wade said that their music and songwriting process has evolved. They spent daily jamming sessions for this album, skipping the whole demo process and just putting all their different musical influences into a blank canvass, and Almeria just came to life.

I know long-time Lifehouse fans may not be accustomed to hearing this kind of diverse musical style from the band, but I can say that at some point, a band has to make an album wherein they can freely put whatever experimenting and evolving comes up from jamming sessions where personal musical influences merge. Some tracks are definitely different from their usual sound and have somewhat different genres and style. Hearing a blues/western-rock kind of music (“Gotta Be Tonight”, “Right Back Home”) is not something you’d expect from Lifehouse, but the outcome is outstanding. Of course, there are the tracks “Nobody Listen”, “Barricade”, “Aftermath”, “Only You’re The One” that have the distinct Lifehouse sound everyone has come to love all through these years.

I have always loved Lifehouse, but I can say that this album is definitely something even non-Lifehouse fans should really listen to.

Lifehouse: Making Of The Album (by Lifehousemusic)

As if my fangirling week wasn’t enough. I got the chance to watch LIFEHOUSE  last Saturday, and as always, it was awesome! Jason Wade hadn’t changed a single bit from the time they came here 4 years ago. During that time, I still handled local shows so I got the chance to meet him and I can say that he is a very nice and charming guy. Very down-to-earth and no rockstar attitude. And last Saturday, after the concert, MCA was sweet enough to give me a meet and greet pass, so I got the chance to meet them face-to-face again. I was pleasantly surprised when Jason hugged me when he saw me! He is such a darling. I wanted to post my meet and greet photo here but I don’t have it yet so in the meantime, here are photos from the concert. <3

1. BRUNO MARS

It was love at first sight for me. This guy is VERY talented. He has a beautiful voice, he writes, produces, sings, plays the guitar, drums and piano. I love his moves on stage (yes he can dance, and I mean really DANCE), a great performer. He is dapper, I like his rockabilly sense of fashion. He is very witty, and a very funny guy. His tweets always gets me rolling on the floor laughing. Not to mention his handsome looks - his big eyes, cute dimples and beautiful smile. I love his curly hair, and his golden brown skin color. Aaaaaaaahhh. What more can you ask for?! This is the kind of guy you introduce to your mother. Bruno Mars is definitely my kind of guy! <3

2. CHRIS MARTIN of Coldplay

I said this before and I’ll say it again. I am not really a fan of blue eyes, but if its Chris Martin, I’d gladly reconsider! He’s got the bluest eyes I’ve ever seen, well, at least from where I was sitting at the lobby of Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong where we saw the band leaving for their soundcheck. He seems like a very mild-mannered guy during interviews, a bit on the shy side. And he’s got a cute boyish look. Gwyneth is a lucky gal! :)

3. ADAM LEVINE of Maroon 5

Adam, just take your shirt off okay?! You are one hot sexy thang! My short and brief encounter with this guy was very memorable, and I found it cute that he answered my stupid silly question (please don’t ask what the question was). He is a darling. And his concerts always give me a massive hangover. You hot sexy thang - oh yeah I already said that.

4. JOHN MAYER

They say he is an asshole. Well, he is one talented gorgeous asshole. John Mayer is defintely HOT. When he performs, its like he has a love affair with his guitar. Mr. Mayer, I hope you get well soon, I miss you.

5. BONO of U2

Even though Bono is old enough to be my dad, I still find him gorgeous.  I have always loved him since I was a kid. He is the front man of the world’s greatest band, and he totally owns the stage, no not just the stage but the whole stadium when he performs. His presence is just overwhelming. I have yet to see U2 perform live. But I am very sure its gonna be one heck of an experience! Bono, please come to Manila!

6. DAVID COOK

David Cook is the reason why I watched the whole 7th Season of Americal Idol. I already liked him from his audition. I find him very handsome! And I totally love his voice. He was the only contestant who chose the best songs and he totally owned them. His performances were just stellar. I never really liked Lionel Richie’s “Hello” but when David Cook sang it, its like I had a new-found respect for the song. I hope he comes back to Manila.

7. JARED LETO of 30 Seconds To Mars

I braved the rain just to see Jared Leto perform. And that says it all. He looks like a living mannequin. He looks so perfect I wanted to ask if he was human hahaha! He just turned 40 and he doesn’t look his age at all. You can still mistake him for a 28 year old. Or even younger. Jared Leto, you are GORGEOUS!

8. GAVIN ROSSDALE

Aaaww. Gavin Rossdale. I was more a fan of Gavin than his band Bush.  I think Bush became huge because of his good looks and his voice. I liked his solo album Wanderlust. Other than the fact that he is Gwen Stefani’s (my ultimate favorite!) husband, I love this guy because I can tell that he is a humble man. He has already tweeted me back several times and I still get all too giddy everytime that happens. And I am hoping to meet him when Bush comes to Manila next month!

9. JASON WADE of Lifehouse

Jason Wade! Another kind of guy you’d introduce to your mom. This guy is mild-mannered and very humble. He totally doesn’t have a rockstar attitude. I was lucky enough to have met him and the band when they went to Manila, and it was one of the most memorable experiences I ever had. He is sooo cute and charming, you’d want to put him in your pocket and take him home. And he also has a good sense of humor. I would love to see him again!

10. JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

I first got the chance to see Justin Timberlake in LA at the time when he still sported blonde curls and was still with N’Sync, but I didn’t pay much attention as I had my eyes on JC Chazez. But that curly boy grew up and become one HOT SEXY man. Wasn’t able to meet him when he came to Manila but I was one of the girls screaming when he came on stage during Timbaland’s concert. If there were really BENEFITS, I wouldn’t mind having Justin as my FRIEND :p.
